Brett Bass is one of Bellevue Gun Club’s Range Managers. He is also a sergeant in the Individual Ready Reserve of the U.S. Marine Corps. He has been enlisted since 2006, and completed Military Police School as his class honor graduate in 2007. Brett has been mobilized to active duty three times and served overseas on training, support, and combat missions three times. In 2010, he participated in a NATO-led training mission to Latvia. For his work training the Latvian National Guard there, he was named Marine of the Quarter by H&S Co. 4th LSB. He volunteered to deploy to the Middle East in 2011, and was attached to MARCENT in Kuwait where he supported Operations Iraqi Freedom and New Dawn. Immediately following his return from Kuwait in 2012, he again volunteered to deploy with MARCENT, this time to Kabul, Afghanistan. From 2012 to 2013 he served as an integral member of MARCENT’s team in Afghanistan, where he led or participated in over a hundred movements outside the wire. Brett’s civilian work background is in private-sector security contracting. He majored in history at the University of Idaho, where he was also a member of the NROTC’s pistol team. He is an NRA and SAF Life Member, and certified by the NRA as a Range Safety Officer, Rifle Instructor, and Pistol Instructor. At Bellevue Gun Club, he assists in instructing Right on Target and Right on Target II, and is one of the primary instructors for the Intro to Your Carbine class.
